Week 2: Leading at the Edge Chapter 1

     After I read the first chapter of Leading at the Edge, I realize the importance of finding a new mark. When we fall into a circumstance that we do not expect. We tend to rely on something we can trust. And if there is not any object we can trust, we always go to panic mode. 

      In this situation, leader have to know what should he/she do exactly and set a goal to keep a concentration of his/her team. Of course, leader must not show negative expression like impatience or confusion to his/her teammates. If I compare leadership to something, I can say that leadership is a compass. A broken compass can never bring us to a goal, we can not reach to the goal unless the compass points accurate direction.

     In my thinking, it does not mean that only leader have to acquire a leadership in a group. But the whole members of group should know about the leadership and have their spirit of self-reliance. I think Japanese tend to rely on their boss or leader so much and do not have their own thinking, isn't it?

Free topic: About Thailand

    Today I would like to introduce about my home country, Thailand. I moved from Thailand to Japan when I was 15 years old because of enrolment in ICU high school. I was born in there and I had never lived in other country. So I lived in Thailand for 15 years.

     What kind of things can you imagine about Thailand? One of the most popular thing about Thailand is food. Mainly it tastes spicy and sour, like Tomyumkung.

There are quite a lot of Thai restaurant in Japan too. Some of them can make a taste like local Thai restaurant. But ALL of Thai restaurants in Japan reduce hotness to adjust Japanese preferrence. Also there are many food that Japanese have not known yet. So you should go to Thailand and experience the real taste of it!

    There are so many things that I can talk about Thailand. For example...

gorgeous buddhist temple...

and so on! You can ask me anything when you have a plan to go to Thailand (^^)v

Week1: The things I have learned so far

     In the first class, we learned how to shake hands with people. Ken told us that we have to aware "brief","warm" and "firm". These 3 elements are the most important in shaking hands. Also, other things like eye-contact and smiling are also important too. 

     In the next class, we learned about power posing. The data shows that power posing has quite a lot of benefits. For example, it helps decreasing stress hormone which is called cortisol. Power posing can change our body physically and these changes are effected to motivation and health. You can make a better performance by using power posing!

     We also went to a computer room and learned how to create a blog. Now I am using my iphone to post this blog. I wanna sleep! Bye~

     

Sawasdee Krap!

     Hello,I'm Raku Kawasaki. I came from Thailand and I have lived in there for 15 years. The reason why I have lived in there so long is that because my father is Thai. He studied Japanese in Japan when he was a college student. After that  he met with my mother and then moved back to Thailand. Therefore I was born in Thailand and also studied at local school. I speak Thai when I talk to my father, haha.

     I started to live in Japan when I entered to ICU High School. It was the first time that I had some Japanese friends. ICUHS has many unique points. For example, more than 60% of students are Japanese who came back from other country like me. Therefore, I could get used to spend a life in Japan easily. Also, I played handball when I was there. I could make a lot of good memories in that club. I love my high school so much!

     Now, in ICU, I belong to American football team called Apostles. My position is a lineman who has to clash against each others. 

The guy on the left side is me. We train really hard in every practice. Sometimes I get nervous before I go to training. However, we feel very happy when we win the game! Nice to meet you all !
